Cape Town, South Africa
Being on a cruise ship is a dream. We are traveling while staying in nice accommodations, and eating delicious food. So after the ship left Durban, we had two days at sea, and then the third morning we were anticipating to see Cape Town at 7:30am which was our arrival time. But as we approached, there was a thick fog that engulfed us on the water. The captain told everyone on the ship that we had to wait to dock because the fog was too thick. So we waited and waited. We waited until 3pm when we could actually dock. The problem was, we were supposed to leave port around 3pm, so a lot of plans had to change. But I found it as a blessing because I have never been to Cape Town before and I wanted to explore. One of my musician friends Selkii, lived in Cape Town for a few years so she was a tour guide of sorts for a few of us. So we walked from Cape Town Harbour along the waterfront for a bit, and then took a taxi towards Sea Point and Camps Bay and went to a rooftop restaurant for some late lunch. We had to get back to the ship before 8pm because Selkii and I had to do some music performances. But because of the change in schedule, we had an extra day in Cape Town now. So the next morning a group of us were able to get to Table Mountain, which has an incredible view at the top. That was pretty much all I was able to do there because we had to be back on the ship before 3pm. There was a big party on the pool deck as we left Cape Town.
