Open Mic is the life of a Music Community

You don't have to be a musician to attend an open mic, it is also a great way to find upcoming talent in your area if you enjoy listening to live music. An open mic is where generally musicians (singer-songwriters, guitarists, pianists, etc.), poets, or comedians can come and play a short set meaning 2-3 songs of material to play for the crowd. The crowd usually consists of other musicians waiting for their turn, but can also consist of friends, family, or anyone wanting to come and listen to all different styles and kinds of talent in their area. An open mic is usually located at a bar or restaurant and usually takes place on an off night, meaning a sunday, monday, tuesday or wednesday.
